A romantic elopement wedding with the focus very much on the two of you. An intimate ceremony, photographs and a champagne Afternoon Tea to celebrate.

Woodbank Platinum
This is the perfect option for those looking for a full wedding day to celebrate with exclusive use all day hire for up to 70 day and 100 evening guests (including the happy couple).
Sweet Heart
Look forward to the romance of a getaway wedding, just for two – and maybe your nearest and dearest with a Woodbank Sweetheart Wedding. Take a Celtic journey into the beautiful Usk Valley in Wales where your exclusive and personal wedding will take place in the Main Hall, parts of which date back to the late 19th century.
After your wedding ceremony, catch your breath and celebrate your marriage with a Champagne Afternoon Tea. Start with a drink on the Usk terrace, followed by photography against breath-taking views of the River Usk and Welsh countryside. We offer exclusive hire for Sweetheart weddings from Monday to Thursday. This option is perfect for a romance filled wedding day, focused on just the two of you.
A Sweetheart wedding at Woodbank is the most relaxed, yet special and intimate way to get married.
Your Sweetheart Wedding Day
From the moment you walk through our Gothic style archway, we will be there with a warm Welsh welcome and after a quick chat with the Registrar you’ll be ready for your personal wedding ceremony at our ornately carved oak library table in the Main Hall.
Your photographer will capture your arrival, ceremony, followed by photographs in our grounds to ensure you make the most of this gorgeous setting for your wedding day.
After your ceremony enjoy a Champagne afternoon tea for two and take in the glorious views, making a day to treasure and remember for always. Sweetheart weddings were never more special.
Sweetheart weddings include:
- exclusive use of the venue and grounds for your wedding ceremony
- an opportunity for some stunning photography in beautiful Welsh countryside
- champagne afternoon tea for two (2)
- witnesses provided (if required)

Woodbank Optional Selections
We recognise that no wedding is the same and your wedding plan can be changed or added to incorporating your preferences. We can accommodate you whether it’s adding additional guests, reserving our guest bedrooms, or choosing from our drink packages and supplier options.

Sweet Heart +
Our Sweetheart plus wedding plan is a great option for couples who like the intimacy and personal nature of a Sweetheart wedding but would love to include more people in their wedding celebrations.
It allows time for your wedding ceremony, canapés, drinks on the Usk terrace, photography, celebratory meal followed by cutting of the cake and your first dance, before carriages

There are many reasons that an increasing number of couples choose a Sweetheart wedding. It makes sense for some couples apart from financial considerations where they are looking for certainty in an uncertain environment, whilst still having that special of special days. Sweetheart weddings provide an effective alternative.
Other couples choose a Sweetheart wedding as they’ve been married before. We work with couples who wish to get married in a completely different way to the more traditional wedding.
Such a wedding focuses purely on you and fully reflects your unique ideas and vision, without the worry of a large wedding, so you can relax and enjoy every moment.

How Do We Plan?
If you’ve decided on a Sweetheart wedding at Woodbank house here’s what you need to do next.
You can get in touch with us to arrange a viewing or reserve your wedding date with us.
You’ll need to have a reserved date before you contact the registrars at Monmouthshire county council to book them for your wedding ceremony. You can call them directly on 01873 735435 or email ceremonies@monmouthshire.gov.co.uk.
Once you have booked your ceremony with the Registrar, you will let us know and we’ll start planning your wedding day including all those special touches needed.

Woodbank Platinum
For couples looking to extend their wedding celebrations over a full day and into the evening then our Woodbank Platinum wedding plan is the perfect option.
This is suitable for total parties of seventy (70) in the day and a (hundred) 100 in the evening.
Then add from our range of Woodbank optional selections to create your perfect personal wedding day!

The venue hire includes:
- exclusive use of the main hall, drawing room, Usk terrace
- exclusive use of the grounds and gardens set in twenty (20) acres for photography

“Sweetheart Weddings take place Monday to Thursday and are designed for the two (2) of you and up to six (6) guests.
Sweetheart Plus weddings also take place Monday to Thursday for wedding celebrations up to forty (40) in total.
Woodbank Platinum weddings take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and are ideal for parties up to seventy (70) day and a hundred (100) evening.
Sweetheart plus and Woodbank platinum plans guarantee bedroom rates for our seven (7) bedrooms at Woodbank (up to eighteen (18) guests), together with special drink package prices
All party numbers include Bride and Groom and a supplement may be payable for Bank holidays and Christmas week.
